How to become a high value being
Do you feel out of balance?
Days can fly by so fast, and with so much to do, it can be easy to find ourselves in patterns that just don't work anymore. Perhaps you have more stress than usual, leading you to having more arguments with your partner. Or maybe you keep catching that cold that seems to be coming around.
Our mind, body, and spirit are all interwoven and connected. When we neglect certain parts of ourselves, it's like having a wobbly wheel on your cart. You start to slow down, unable to move at maximum capacity, or may get into an accident that causes you even more pain and heartache.
I want to share with you something that will not only help your personal life feel more balanced,
but will also help your professional life as well.
Why? Because how we do anything is how we do everything.
Ultimately, when both areas of our life feel balanced - we truly begin to thrive!
If you are only focusing on work, it's possible that your well-being is being left behind, which can lead to stress, health issues, emotional challenges, and conflicts in your relationships.
If you are only focused on your personal life, it's possible that your finances are less than fabulous, you may be "losing yourself" in your relationship, or you're feeling overwhelmed by the drama and stress that family and friends can cultivate.
When you take a step back and look at the bigger picture, what do you see is missing from both of these scenarios?
While many things may come up for you, what I'd like to look at today is Self-Care.
Why is self-care so important?
You may be thinking " I don't have time to take care of myself with all the other things I need to do."
You may also be thinking that "putting myself first seems selfish, and I don't feel worthy of that time, focus, and energy anyhow."
You may even be thinking that "as long as things look okay on the outside it doesn't really matter how I feel. "
Well guess what my beautiful, sweet friend?
This may sound harsh, but when you are not taking care of yourself, everyone around you suffers too.
This is because we ALL have basic needs, and if you are not meeting your own, then chances are you are energetically sucking them from others around you, even if it is subconscious.
The good news is ~ it doesn't have to be this way!
Would you like to know how to truly get what you want in life - while also offering even more to the people you work with and care about the most?
The KEY is to become a High Value Being.
Here are the 5 ingredients to doing this effectively.
1. Create a life you love
~ you are in charge of your life. If something isn't vibing with you - change it!
~ Take matters into your own hands and start doing things you love - DAILY - even 5 minutes a day can create massive improvement.
2. Push past FEAR to go after what you want
~ Have you been choosing comfort over change?
~ I invite you to take more risks daily to create a momentum that will allow even more ease to flow...
~ Fear is natural, everything you truly desire is just beyond the edge of your comfort zone.
3. Raise your level of energy
~ This will create magnetism in your life!
~ nutrition, exercise, smiling, dancing, running, jumping, all create a higher level of energy.
~ Let go of thoughts, feelings, and beliefs that are negative and heavy.
~ Clear and up-level your energetic field by having your BARS run! (click for info on the bars)
4. Speak your truth
~ Are you letting your hurt feelings simmer for days? Stop doing that.
~ Say what is on your mind and heart.
~ Stuffing your feelings only leads to more pain, resentment, and possible blow-up arguments.
5. Stop comparing yourself to others
~ You are unique!
~ You radiate a brilliance that is special and divine all on your own.
~ Would sugar compare itself to salt? I think not! Both are necessary and delicious ;)
I hope you are receiving some good eye opening ideas about how to elevate your spirit and become a radiant high value being!
Perhaps you are already practicing many of these things already, and this serves as confirmation to your current path. Congratulations!
Either way, it is up to you to create the change that you seek.
Personally, I like to feel good and thrive.
I love to help people like you to embrace your authentic self, to follow your truth, so you can feel good and thrive as well!
Cheers to YOU getting what you want out of life!
Lots of love,
Erin

Do the holidays Bring you stress?
What’s the best possible scenario you can imagine during your family visits over the holidays?
There you are sitting at the dinner table, and you feel inspired to share a story about something that recently occurred in your life. Everyone’s eyes are on you, their faces radiate with love and smiles. They laugh at your jokes, and give you words of adoration and encouragement as you share with a luminous open heart. You feel seen, heard, and loved.
What would it take for you to feel this kind of safety and love while with your family?
How might your heart open in ways that allow you to reach new capacities of joy and happiness?
Do you think that all areas of your life might improve if you felt like you can truly be yourself around your family?
A client of mine hired me because he was incredibly nervous about visiting his family for Thanksgiving. He has a family member that insists on being rude and judgmental about his lifestyle. He felt so small and insecure when she was around. He could feel the negative energy that she would beam at him from across the room. He was sick of these feelings, especially because he was proud of his lifestyle choices and just wanted to feel comfortable in his own skin and have a good time with his family.
After our time working together, he was happy to report back to me that he had the best Thanksgiving visit with his family yet! He actually had fun and was true to himself. He stayed in is center and shifted his awareness so that what used to feel overwhelming and frightening, turned into bubbly, joyful energy and excitement! His perspectives had shifted and he was able to clearly see for the first time, that the judgments of his family were born from a place of their own unhappiness, and had nothing at all to do with him. He grew compassion where he once felt judged.
Wow, amazing success story, right!?
I know that you can do this too! It takes effort and willingness to look inside the perspectives you are holding on to that are keeping you trapped inside those negative feelings. I promise you, that putting in the work to release these blocks is incredibly worth it! It doesn’t have to be painful either. Sometimes it’s just a matter of identifying the patterns, feelings, and behaviors, and then reframing them to see the truth! Don’t you think that your future self would want you to heal these family wounds once and for all?
I know that it is possible. I too have been on the journey of healing my relationships with my family. The rewards are priceless, to know that you are not your story, and you are not the judgments of others.
You are your beautiful self. Isn’t it time that you feel loved, appreciated, and accepted for who you are no matter who you are around?
It is possible, dear one. I will help you get there.

3 easy tricks to get over feeling LONELY
I used to fantasize about drowning.
I know, sounds crazy right? It’s true though. I had a dark side in my younger years that seemed to think drowning would be a romantic way to go. When I would feel really sad and alone, I would start to cry. I felt like I had no one to love me. It felt like there was a big bleeding whole in my heart.
Have you ever felt really lonely? Like you have no one to talk to? Like no one in the world gets you?
I know how low it can make you feel. Like everyone around you seems to be loved by someone but you. I understand the distance you feel from others. You are just wishing you had a best friend or lover that will completely and utterly be there for you. Then, you would be complete, right?
Then there’s the loneliness you can feel when you are with another person too. I know that feeling well. Like the other person completely doesn’t get you, they are cutting you off emotionally, so you feel even more alone, and would almost rather be alone.
Things have really changed in my world of aloneness since then. In fact, being alone is sometimes my favorite way to be! There’s a quality of aloneness now, that feels very rich and full to me. I feel completely and utterly loved - always, and deeply connected with myself, the planet, and the world around me.
The bath tub now, is only for bathing…
I’ll tell you what I’ve learned and how you can start to feel richly connected too.
First ~ Make ART!
When you have that much sadness and emotion stirring within you, it’s a GREAT time to make art. In fact, some of the greatest artists of our time have fed off such sorrows and deep sadness and pain to create the most beautiful works of art. Art therapy is the real deal and a wonderful way to express your feelings.
I used to write songs and play guitar and sing my heart out all through my teens and twenties. It turned my pain into something beautiful and inspiring that could uplift and move others as well. Making music, writing poetry, and dancing allowed me to express myself while sharing a meaningful connection with others that I was craving. So your task is to make ANYTHING! It doesn’t matter how it turns out or what it is. Don’t worry if you’re not an “artist.” The goal is for you to express yourself. Go for it!
Secondly ~ Get your body in NATURE.
Nature has the most beautiful and harmonious vibration that is incredibly soothing, peaceful, and centering. When you feel disconnected from yourself and others, nature is such a yummy quick fix. The Earth is our home. This beautiful alive, awake, and growing Planet is our first and foremost mother. Take a walk in the grass barefoot. Relax under a tree. Hike a mountain, or swim in the Ocean. Nature is always here to bring your body and heart back into harmony. You will start to realize that you are never really alone, and that the Universe is always supporting you. Remember, you are nature. Your very existence is a miracle and blessing to this Earth. So go out and connect with where you came from.
Third~ TALK to strangers
Did you grow up learning never to talk to strangers? I say that’s BS. If you are feeling lonely, what you are yearning for is companionship and togetherness. When you are out in public, go ahead and say hi to that girl you see every week in Yoga class. Go have a bite to eat sitting at the bar in a restaurant by yourself, and strike up a conversation with someone. I used to do that all the time. Sometimes I still do. You never know who out there would be fun to talk to and what beautiful new friendships you can make. What do you have to lose?
Are you ready to move forward from the pains of loneliness and into juicy and fulfilling relationships with yourself and others? Would you like to receive all the love and joy that this world has to offer you?

The top 3 reasons you might never achieve the happiness & lightness of being you crave...
Do you constantly question yourself?
Are you exhausted by the mere thought of your everyday struggles and relationship challenges?
Good news, you're not alone!
It can be incredibly tiring, trying to live up to the expectations that other people have of you. It's easy to feel frustrated, overwhelmed, and to get down on yourself. You may have feelings that you're "not doing it right" and wonder how to move beyond the destructive thoughts that are circling around in your mind like a broken record.
Where's the joy? Where's the inspiration? Where's the feeling that you're living your life to the fullest?
It took me years to wake up from the illusion of judging myself for pursuing a life that is true for me rather than taking a path that people thought I "should" be taking. People will "should" all over you if you let them. I know very well the feelings of heaviness and confusion that come from doubting yourself, and trying to "get it right." I didn't know it at the time, but I used to make many choices from the space of proving to myself and others that I could be happy doing things my own way, without the help from anybody else. Funny how happiness continued to elude me.
It wasn't until I let all of that go that I was able to find the joy and ease that my heart was seeking. I didn't arrive at this awareness on my own though, I had help... and with the priceless help of my teachers, healers, and guides, I started to become more and more conscious in the areas where my limitations were running rampid. I did some mental flossing, and mental muscle lifting, and started being kinder to myself. My self-talk began to transform, and I started attracting more and more of the people, situations, and experiences, that bring me joy! How does it get even better!?
Here are 3 main elements that I'd love to address, so that you too can begin to move in the direction of the lightness of being that you crave.
#1 Self-Doubt
Do you doubt yourself? Do you question your intuition or perhaps ignore it all together?
More often than not, there is a lot of pressure from the world around you to "get it right." Daily there can be pressure from your boss, your business, your family, your friends, as well of course from your intimate relationship. Our mind can sometimes be a beautiful thing to waste. Our thinking mind tends to create comparison, duality, and neurotically calculates every possibility trying to "figure it all out" before even making one little choice! It can be exhausting, depressing, frustrating, and incredibly disempowering.
What if in trying to be "smart" and "get it right" you are actually leading yourself further and further away from your truth? You know that saying go with your gut? Or your first instinct is usually best? What if trusting in yourself and making choices cold have much more ease than you are allowing? Would you be willing to have a little bit more faith in yourself and trust in the process of getting to know yourself better? Are you willing to try something new, make new choices, and learn to listen in to a different part of you ~ you're knowing...?
Here's HOW.
Exercise: For 1 week, or even one day, I invite you to go with your gut rather than feeding your tendency to over analyze everything to a pulp. I'll tell you a truth : Choice leads to new awareness ( and not the other way around ) It's in the act of making choices that we set the wheels in motion which brings about new information for us to see, learn from, and incorporate into our next choice! PLUS, we make choices in 10 second increments. So if you make a choice, and it doesn't lead you to where you'd like to be, then simply choose again! The idea, is to make choices that feel LIGHT to you and your body.
Tool: Light & Heavy ~ Ask yourself "does this choice feel light or heavy?" Tune in and feel how your body responds. A light feeling will always lead you to your truth... to more ease, more joy, and more you! A heavy feeling means that the choice is not true for you. So don't choose it!
#2 Carrying around other people's energy
Do you tend to carry the weight of other people's thoughts and opinions of you? Are you ready to let that go?
Guess what ~ No matter who you are or what you do, there will always be someone there to judge you. So let them!
There's a saying ~ What other people think about me is none of my business.
It's definitely not your job to try and change, fix, convince, or carry around the negativity of others. The ease and joy you seek, is in letting the energy of other people go. It is from this *space* of ease and allowance that the magic of transformation can occur. If a feeling of guilt begins to rise within you at the mere thought of letting go, then this next tool is for you.
Tool: If you start to feel heavy, stuck, guilty, or low on yourself, ask yourself "who does this belong to?"
Truth ~ 99% of your thoughts, feelings, and emotions do - not - belong - to - you. Wow... That's an eye opener, huh!?
It's ok to let it go. In fact, it's imperative simply because you cannot process that which does not belong to you. This is why it makes you feel so heavy, stuck, and limited. Rather than digest it, simply allow it to leave and LET IT GO. You cannot help someone by carrying their burdens. It's a lie, that's why it feels heavy!
Sometimes you need to ask a few times ~ who does this belong to? who does this belong to? who does this belong to? Sit and listen with your body, and begin to notice as the energy starts to shift and lighten up again. Your being naturally feels LIGHT. Please note, that it's not important for you to *know* who the thoughts, feelings, or emotions, belong to. Simply ask and return to sender, whether you know who's it is or not.
#3 Proving yourself
Whether you are trying to prove that you are smart enough, tough enough, pretty enough, good enough, caring enough, loveable, sexy, or cool... The entire gauntlet of proving yourself, will only leave you with an empty sense of satisfaction. Often times we unconsciously learn to prove ourselves from our upbringing. This can create a feeling of failure when we do not get the acknowledgment and external validation that we are looking for. This can also lead to a limiting belief of not being worthy, because you are too focused on the approval of others. Worthiness comes from within...
Tool: You have to change your roots to change your fruits! I invite you to change the *root* of where you are coming from, meaning the space from which you make your choices ~ and take action from a new place within you, in order to have the joy and unwavering confidence you desire.
Ask yourself ~ How can I come from the space of LOVE and INSPIRATION and let go of the desire to prove myself?
It's with this small switch in the way you approach your tasks, assignments, and relationships that new *fruitful* roots will begin to grow.
Ask yourself ~ What do *I* love about this? Or What inspires *me* about doing this project? You can then invite in the energy of joyful fulfillment and begin to take inspired action from this illuminated space, and notice the ease that begins to flow into your life!
It may seem like an up-hill climb, or easier said then done. Yet as you begin to practice these tools and integrate them into your everyday, the muscles of your mind begin to strengthen, your intuition becomes easier to hear, and your mood will elevate. These tools and exercises will help you begin to hone your inner compass, as I like to call it, leading you to more ease, more joy, and more YOU.
I love to help people create a solid sense of inner knowing and confidence, thus elevating your joy factor.

Are you blocking your flow of abundance?
You might think that working hard is what creates the flow of abundance coming to you…
That’s what we’ve been told, that’s what we learn in school… Unfortunately, there is a key ingredient that is missing in this equation. When we work hard, we are plowing ahead, making shit happen, giving our all… this is good… But how are you feeling during this process? Are you exhausted, stressed, frustrated, and over stretched, with a nagging feeling that something’s missing?
Imagine feeling excited, nourished, celebrated, and relaxed while you work? It sounds like a fantasy, but it indeed is possible. We all have ideas, beliefs, and emotions about how things are supposed to go for us and what we are supposed to do from day to day to make a living, to succeed, or to feel happy.
Who is it that you are getting your inspiration from? Where do you go when you need a boost, a pep talk, or some fun? What do you do to relax and receive the fruits of your labor?
It’s important to recognize that what we surround ourselves with greatly effects all that flows into our life.
It’s also important to recognize how we are standing in our own way.
In this case, it might be our own judgements on what we are doing, or what we are not doing that keeps us stuck, either spiritually, emotionally or financially.
So how do we get unstuck?
When was the last time you allowed yourself to relax and receive something that nurtures your soul? The last time that you really felt a deep sense of trust in yourself? What is your relationship with your own inner guidance? Do you deeply know that you know everything you need to know? What I mean is – how much are you looking outside of yourself for answers and truths that are only possible to find inside of you?
What I have to offer you…
Is a returning, a deep remembering, of what it is like to feel that eternal sense of peace that comes along with knowing and trusting in yourself. Not the surface trust that feels like you are convincing yourself, but a deep intuitive knowing… and ability to receive these insights!
If this speaks to you and your insides are shouting “yes, yes, I want that!”
Then please, don’t hesitate.. Listen to your inner voice and contact me
The missing ingredients to creating the flow of abundance and prosperity in your life, are easier to discover when you take the time to look! You might not be aware of these blocks, the unconscious mind can be a real nut to crack… but you can do it! And I guarantee you will be so thankful that you gave yourself this opportunity.
What have you got to lose?
Are you willing to take action in order to receive?

Let go of other's judgments - and be AWESOME.
In what way are you letting the judgements of others dim your light?
Have you been sailing the seas of your life at half mast, simply because you are afraid to succeed? Are you so concerned with the responsibility that comes along with being awesome that you’ve chosen to cruise along unnoticed, because you think it’s easier?
What if I told you that the more awesome you are, the easier everything gets?
The truth is, that carrying around the ideologies, judgements, and opinions of others isexhausting! Why waist your time trying to fit into a mold or appear a certain way when there is always going to be a new judgement waiting around the corner for you? Whether you are religious and fear the judgements of God, or you are in a social circle that you feel the need to keep up with (or anywhere in between) the reality is still the same: YOU – ARE – AWESOME! You are not doing anybody any favors by dimming down your light or not living in YOUR truth, got it? As Dr. Suess so brilliantly says:
“Today you are you, that is truer than true. There is no one alive who is youer than you.”
So what are you waiting for? Honestly? Are you waiting for some magical gust of wind to come and blow away all of your worries? Well I suggest you take a good look in the mirror and start blowing, because YOU have the power my dear friends… All you ever need is already WITHIN you.
The cool thing is, when we let go of what others think about us and commit to honoring our own truth, we feel better. Yep, it’s like we are finally free to just be ourselves! As soon as you do this, you know what happens? All of life starts to fall into place. Why? Because all of the people and limitations, obstacles and issues, that are not in total alignment with thetrue you (now that you are now radiating at full steam) will simply fall away. What’s even better is that all of the good stuff you have been yearning for- will start to show up. This is what so many self-help guru’s call MIRACLES! It does feel like a miracle too… And all you have to do is -make the choice- to live in your fullest light. To let go of the fear of judgements from others, and start living a life that is full of your own self-love and radiantbeing-ness. When you do this, people will notice- people may even judge you for changing… but those who judge you and try to dim you down are the very same people that will eventually either- follow the footsteps of your brave and courageous example of being AWESOME! OR… they will fall away and no longer play the same role in your life that they once did. And you know what? That’s totally okay. This is all a part of the commitment we are making to ourselves when we decide to embrace our whole self and just BE awesome.
So let me ask you this.. What -new choices- can you make that might shift up how you are relating with, and showing up in your life? What new fashion styles have you been wanting to try but are afraid of other’s judging you? What parts of you have been locked up in your emotional closet that are yearning to come out and play?
You are safe now. It’s alright, I promise. As you choose to commit to loving yourself, being expressive and playful, all the meaningful connections and goodness that you are craving will magically appear- within you and all around you!
This really is the juiciest best shit out there! The Universe created you to be YOU, not to be anybody else, got it!?
You are IMPORTANT!!!
Ready? Set? GO!
Let me know how it goes
with love, blessings, and radiant vibrant light!!!

Always & Never- The harm of using absolute statements
When was the last time you Always did something? Or have you ever been accused of never doing something and said to yourself, “well, I guess I don’t do that regularly but to say I never do it is just not true.”
The truth as I see it, is there is very little in life that always or never occurs. Even in science- as soon as one scientific conclusion reaches the public, there quite often will be an exception that follows, or new data that proves that data to be outdated or irrelevant.
As you might understand how this relates in research and scientific terms, how does using absolute statements cause harm in our personal lives?
When we use statements such as always and never we more often then not are denying part of the truth. Isn’t it true that there are moments in life where the opposite also occurs? Quite often when we use these terms, is when we are upset by something, feeling hurt, or ruminating in dissatisfaction. This type of communication, either within our own self-reflection or while talking to another, creates the feeling that things are stuck or done, sign sealed and delivered… ”You NEVER wash the dishes, I ALWAYS have to do them.” Now tell me, is there any way to read that where it sounds good to the person on the receiving end? Probably not. When we think in absolute terms we end up creating more irritation and hurt within ourselves and the other. We are exaggerating the truth so that we feeljustified and can be validated.
From the receivers point of view, being told we always or never do something of importance, can immediately put us on the defense. We feel trapped in a corner, or rather shoved in a box. Nobody likes to feel trapped or pinned, coined or labeled. This is exactly what absolute statements do- they make concrete statments out of something that is in fact ever-changing and subject to exceptions.
So give this a try: Next time you feel disappointed at what someone always or never does, ask yourself “is this true?” If it’s not true, just accept this reality and notice how it calms you down, even if just a little bit. This allows you to take one moment to recognize the good that also occurs. For example, if you get upset that your partner never cooks or cleans, try to remember all the times that your partner did cook and clean for you. You might start to realize that it happens more often then you give them credit for. When you then communicate from this perspective, you might notice that the talk goes much smoother. Rather then making an accusation you can instead make a request! “You never cook for me” turns into, “would you like to cook for me sometime soon?” Tell me, which one would you prefer to hear? Which one is more inspiring to lead you to actually cook?
Yep, I think you get my point. I hope this helps you on your journey of clear, honest, kind, and direct communication!
Love & blessings,
Erin

Cutting the crap- so you can expand!
So much has been shifting and changing for me lately! Not just for me, but in me. As I have been giving and receiving this AMAZING energy work called Access BARS Consciousness, I have become aware of a new reality that exists within us. This reality has no shape or forms, no concrete edges or molded archetypes, no thoughts or ideas to hold us down and fill up space…
The truth is, I am kind of sick of things that fill up space. Just writing that feels lighter… Let me ask you a question: how much of the stuff that you own, fills you up with a deep and lasting sense of satisfaction? How many of the beliefs that you carry with you in your day to day mindset, create a reality of lightness and ease? How many of the judgements that you have of the world and your place in it are creating an effortless flow of income for you?
My guess is, close to NONE. Why is this? Haven’t we been raised in a family that taught usgood morals and proper work ethic? My answer to this question is YES, definitely. The question however, isn’t in the value of what we learned. It’s in our attachments to these thoughts and beliefs, and how they might be creating limitations for us - even the good ones.
What?
Ya, I know that may sound confusing and backwards. How can all the good values and thoughtful approaches to life be holding me back? The thing is, we are sensitive creatures- all of us. We easily take on and carry thoughts and beliefs, ideas and judgements -from other people- of what life is supposed to look like, how we are supposed to find success in this world, and we make these our truths!
What if I told you that the magic of creating what you love lies in surrendering control andembracing the unknown? Does the mere idea of surrendering control freak you out? Ok, you might not be quite ready for that yet, and that’s just fine… but let me ask you this:
Isn’t it time you allowed yourself a break, to put your armor down and breathe in a little fresh air? Wouldn’t it be amazing if you could feel yummy and relaxed in your life? Wouldn’t it be simply thrilling if you could effortlessly approach your life with enthusiasm andlightness?
I’m going tell you how to do it but you might not believe me…. So much of what we have been taught to believe, is that good things come to those who work hard. I say well, I’m sure that CAN be true, but does it always HAVE to be true? Do we always have to struggleto get what we want and feel good? I say -definitely not!
It really is much simpler than this… All you have to do is choose to expand. Choose to grow bigger. Choose to embrace the ~scientific reality~ that the entire Universe lives inside of you… This might sound a bit “out there” but honestly it’s such an easy switch to make once you confront the intensity of it all and simply~ let go of the struggle…
~cut the crap and expand~
Why does this work, this expansion I speak of? Well, it might be because one of the most fundamental aspect of the universe is expansion! When we cut the chords and stoptrying to control our ideas, beliefs, and fantasies of how our life is supposed to happen for us… then things magically fall into place! This doesn’t mean we stop doing things, no… quite the opposite! It just means we create an infinite space within us that supports us and enthusiastically propels us forward, rather then muscling through and exhausting ourselves! Below, I will post a link that will take you through a little guided meditation and you can experience for yourself the delicious feelings of ease that come along with the practice of expansion.
This will be a tool you can use, to tap into whenever the bullshit of life is bogging you down… you know, it’s that feeling of contraction when you start to feel small and overwhelmed, when your energy feels like it’s imploding in on you. Don’t just trust me, try it for yourself! And while you’re at it, I suggest you assist the process and create experiences in your life where you are able to receive. If it’s not naturally there for you, choose differently so you can open up the space of possibility. Why? Because it feels amazing! Being expansive, receptive, and present creates the yummiest vibes… It’s like simmering in a hot tub ~ everything you normally carry throughout your day just melts away into peace and calm. The thing is, this takes practice and maintenance like anything else in this world. The beauty is, that this sort of practice brings instant satisfaction, instant results! I can assist you if you’d like. Truly it would be my honor. The energy work I practice harnesses these ideas and magnifies the clearing affects. It’s pretty much the best shit ever! Access BARS consciousness.
Contact me if you are in Seattle- [email protected], and we’ll set you up with an energy releasing session of juicy goodness that’s undeniable!
So here we go, sit back, relax, enjoy, and embrace the entire universe within you, as you expand to the outer edges and beyond…… How does it get even better than this!?

Communication 101: How to get clarity- without being a jerk
When I was attending Santa Barbara City College back in 2001, I took an interpersonal communication class that changed my life! There was so much important and helpful information on how to communicate directly and effectively without losing your power or putting someone else in defense mode. One of the amazingly helpful tools that still sticks with me today, is how and when to use effective ~Feeling Statements~
Being able to gain clarity without offending who you are questioning can be quite tricky sometimes… especially when emotions are running on high! Usually it’s the times when you are hurt, angry, feeling rejected, or confused, that you are needing clarity the most. These are also unfortunately the times when we are most likely to be offensive, passive aggressive, or just want to curl up and hide in your own self-misery or defeat. If this sounds like anything you experience, this tool is for you. If you are human and have any relationships at all with any other human beings, this tool is for you!
Being able to effectively gain clarity and understanding by asking one simple question is helpful in your intimate relationships, your personal life, with your children, your family, in your work world, with perfect strangers, you name it!
It’s a super simple formula, and here’s how it works: First off, it’s important to understand that when you are confronting someone on a particular issue that is difficult to say, chances are that it might be difficult for that person to receive it as well. NOBODY likes to be told what they are doing wrong, nobody likes to be accused, nobody likes to hear what an asshole they are.. Got it?
So here’s how to diffuse or avoid any extra tension in an otherwise tricky situation.
First: Use an “I feeling” statement… Example: I feel hurt…
By starting with I feel ___ , the person you are talking to remains OPEN and able to RECEIVEwhat you have to say. A lot of people make the big mistake of starting with “You did_____ and I’m pissed about it” or whatever… By starting with “I feel hurt” the platform is still neutral because you are talking about you -not them.
Next: add in an “action” statement… Example ” – when you didn’t call me back…” When we have the concrete action of what occurred, the person is better able to get what you are talking about. By stating the concrete action, a person is able to see how a CHOICE that they made caused you to feel hurt.
Last but not least: Provide 2 options in question form, of why you presume the person did what they did… Example ” did you not want to talk to me, or did you just forget?” By offering up 2 possible options and posing them as a question, gives the person – room to breathe. They do not feel pinned in the corner or accused. They have the space to choose for themselves one option or the other, OR they can provide their own reason for what went down.
So it’s simple…” I felt hurt when you didn’t call me back. Was it because you didn’t want to talk to me, or was it because you just forgot to call?” I feeling statement + action + 2 options = happy, harmonious, and clear communication.
This can work wonders for deepening ANY relationship.. And guess what, speaking like this from an honest place is sexy. This type of confidence where you are willing to ask for what you need without being needy or accusatory is SEXY. This type of communication where you are able to be direct without losing your power is highly attractive, I promise!
So try it out, and share this with your friends (or lover). Let me know how it goes!

The breezy bliss of being receptive
I recently experienced some energy healing work, and wow… was it powerful! Not only am I so lucky to have experienced such levity, transformation and release, but I truly experienced the bliss that comes along with being receptive. What would life be like if we were able to receive anything that came our way?
When we are in the place of being receptive, we are open, present, and willing. As we receive what is presented to us either directly or indirectly, we are experiencing true oneness with our surroundings. Like a breeze that softly caresses our skin, our soul too is a vessel in which energy is constantly experiencing an electro magnetic “breeze” or current. This is simply a part of our energetic existence. As we are open, we remain free flowing and in motion. We are afterall constantly in motion, at a cellular level that is. Every molecule of our body is constantly negotiating, shifting, changing, and in motion as it stirs up new possibilities. When we tap into the experience of receiving, we are saying “yes” and thus in flow with this inevitable process. We are saying to the universe, to our bodies, and to our hearts, that anything is possible and I am choosing to experience the bliss of this reality.
In The BARS access consciousness workshop, we discussed the idea that rather then awareness bringing about choice, it is the idea of choosing that brings about awareness. To me, this idea is full of empowerment. We are no longer a victim, we are the ones in charge of our experience. To some of us, this idea of freedom and self-realization can be frightening. We are no longer able to use excuses for our life’s circumstances. Part of being empowered, is the act of consciously choosing again and again to be receptive and in harmony, thus awakening infinite possibilities. We can also unconsciously or consciously, choose to resist, and therefore gather and store all the energies of our “negative” experiences. With resistance, we are closing off and unwilling to release, let go of, or allow our energies to transform or transmute the experience.
In the BARS workshop, we also discussed the importance of questioning. When we ask questions we invite an open ended platform in which anything is possible. As we question, we are creating a space within ourselves of openness and listening. As we use questions to further our expansion we are in a place of receptivity. In our daily life, it is all too often that we are expected to know and be sure about so many things that are in fact ever changing. It might seem to some that when we ask questions we appear challenging, uneducated, or naive. Well I’d say to that, “that’s a thought!” I’d like to invite a question for you to ponder. Do you think that the most brilliant minds of our time expanded our reality without asking questions? It is easy to see in this example how the art of questioning is so important. As without so within. The idea of receptivity and questioning go hand in hand. As well as asking questions about our life, our ideas, our financial stability, our creations and relationships, it is also important to go within and ask our bodies what they need as well. Have you ever taken a moment to ask your body what it needs? How it wants to look? Rather then going outside of yourself for the answers, try asking yourself these questions and listen to what comes up for you.
Being in a place of receptivity invites a world of opportunities, possibilities, and experiences that might be outside the realm that you see possible at this moment. We are no longer subject to holding on to that which does not serve us, that which is not ours, and that which creates a reality of judgement, pain, and resistance. Try it out for a day and see how it works for you.
For one day: Practice being willing to receive all that comes your way, from the inside or out. You might just experience how refreshing and freeing this can be. Let the gentle breezy bliss move through you. As you cannot capture the wind, it simply moves on by and fills you up along the way. Share this post with your friends! Together you can start a conversation to receive, question, expand, and awaken a new world of infinite possibilities!

How are you showing up in the world?
Sometimes in life we feel we need to fight for what we believe in. We stand up on our "hind" legs and roar our needs, announce our desires, and will our outcome to exist… at any cost. As children we learn this behavior. When we are constantly being told what to do and how to do it, a part of our behavior begins to develop. How exactly this behavior takes shape is dependent upon our personal nature. If we are already gentle, shy, timid, or quiet, we can become withdrawn if we are not provided a safe space for our spirit to come out and play. A gentle spirited child who is beaten or verbally abused could even withdraw so much that they have a hard time relating to anyone at all. On the other hand, if a child's nature is that of a vibrant spirit, a bit outspoken, stubborn and tenacious, then that child might develop anger, resentment, and learn to fight for who they are in order to carve their own path in the world.
Either which way the nature of a person may be, one extreme or the other or somewhere in between, the growth remains the same. Radical self-acceptance. We all desire to someday arrive at the center of our being, totally in alignment with our will and our nature. When we feel a dissonance between our desired experience and the truth of how we are showing up in the world, as well as how we are treated, mental illness can arrive. By mental illness I am referring to psychological imbalances such as excessive fear, anxiety, rage, or depression.
Whatever our relationship may be with these emotions that lie on the lower side of our personal richter scale, we are not our emotions. I will repeat this, we are not our emotions. Reality as I see it, is that we are spirits or souls who live in a body, which is our own personal temple and duty to take care of. As C. S. Lewis simply yet profoundly states, "You don't have a soul. You are a soul. You have a body.”
Moreover, as we reside on our mother the Earth, it is our duty to live in harmony with her as well, for she is the one who gives us life. Whatever your truth may be, I think we can all agree that in life we have continuous experiences, some good and some bad. We are constantly in relationship with the people around us. Our subconscious (the part of our mind shaped in childhood that acts on "auto-pilot" without awareness) or our conscious mind (the part of our mind that is aware and makes choices) is constantly negotiating how we are showing up in our life and relating with others. We can choose to arrive at the grocery store with a smile or a frown. We can consciously make eye contact with a stranger and smile, or we can look down and scurry by. We can sit at the dinner table with our children and share laughter and discuss inspirational ideas, or we can gossip and complain about all the problems we have. It is up to us in every moment, how we chose to show up for our life.
In order to live a life in harmony with our truest nature of being centered and peaceful, like the sunrise and sunset, we must first learn how to show up for ourselves. As children we are influenced the most. It takes us most of our lives to "unlearn" the harmful behaviors that influenced us negatively as a child, as well as cultivate the good we learned, and integrate it with our true integrity. This is where the amazing power of boundaries comes in. If we are to view our life and the way we relate with people as a metaphorical soccer game, our boundaries would be the emotional lines that we place around ourselves so that we feel safe and free to relax and just BE who we are. Depending on our situation, we can feel open and at one with the other players on our field as we relax and kick around the ball. Other times we can feel a threat and stay far away from the other player/s as we retreat into ourselves, shut down, or feel the need to defend ourselves. The players often switch from being on our side to being our opponent. This is where radical self-acceptance comes in. When we LOVE who we are, we feel more comfortable establishing healthy boundaries, for we are in acceptance and choosing to honor our emotional truth. As an effect we cease to feel threatened by the other. We feel a calm sense of power that no one can take away. When we are centered in ourselves and radiant with our own authentic integrity, then we are like Buddha or Jesus and do not feel the need to fight. From this place we can connect in such a way that we resonate with another's true nature and their highest self, as we are honoring the others integrity as well.
We must first love and accept ourselves, which is indeed Buddha's first teaching - Love thyself. One can spend their whole life learning to love themselves, indeed it is a continual daily practice. As we experience glimpses of this self-love and feel the warmth of our own grateful gaze upon our soul, is when we are in alignment with god. I believe that God is not something outside of ourselves that we need to attain and live up to, but rather God is something within ourselves that we continuously learn to accept, feel and experience. I am not a religious person, however I am in touch with the spiritual, psychological, and physiological benefits of self-love and self-acceptance. It is here in these core elements that we learn to open our heart to ourselves in order to truly be able to open our heart to another. In loving ourselves and honoring our own boundaries, is how we truly are able to love our children and raise them to love and honor their boundaries as well. Where we put our attention with mindful intention is where we are destined to flourish.
I am sharing these thoughts with you all, because I feel it is more important now then ever that we focus as a global community on the matters of the heart. We must start seeing each and every being on the earth with a radiant heart that is equal to the other. Not just every Man, but the trees and plants, the animals, and all of the abundance of natural resources that the Earth has to offer as well.
So I suggest to you that you focus on loving yourself first, and accept who you are and try to live in alignment with your greatest truth. Not the truth that you were trained to believe, not the truth that is broadcasted on the television, but the truth that lives in your heart. know this, love this, honor this, and share this aspect of yourself as you show up in the world. For yourself and for the world at large, it is time.

In lieu of Sandy Hook
Tea lights set afloat honoring the victims
As many thoughts and feelings run through my body, I'm not sure which train to take off on, which one shall lead us home. In light of all that has happened recently in America, my home, I can't help but feel as though we have yet another first hand taste, of all of the hate and anger that is already running amuck throughout our world. There is nothing like people losing their children through hate crimes to get us awake, listening, and feeling the injustice of our society. We speak of mental illness and of gun control, and as much as I am so glad to see people passionately rise up and ready to take action, where is it that the action is most needed?
What I mean is, are we just going to treat the symptoms or are we willing to get down to the root of the problem?
I see our society as a body, a membrane where each of us as individuals are it's cells. The earth and all our natural resources are like the blood and organs that exist to support us. Our society is acting like a cancer, and we see this play out in such horrific displays of action, every time a human being kills another human being. EVERY TIME. I am not trying to lesson the hurt or severity of this local crime that happened in Connecticut, but isn't it true that such acts of humans killing other humans is glorified when displayed in a different package? We spend our good hard earned money through taxes, year after year to support our military so that humans can fly abroad and kill other humans in the supposed fight against terror. As I see it, the days of territorial advancements, religious battles, and the terror we are fighting, are simply old ways of thinking. Thus, in continuing to support the military and it's actions, we are unknowingly contributing to our devolution as a whole. Why is it that war is still such a huge way of life? Isn't it clear that fighting fire with fire only makes more fire?
What is it we are really teaching to our children? Through movies, video games, television, our government, and the news, hate and killing has become the norm. It's no wonder that a child who felt unnoticed his whole life, thought he could go down in history by creating such a crime. Thanks to the news broadcasting his name and his life story, he will!
I believe that it's important we take a closer look at our society and our way of life in order to understand such violence. Indeed mental illness is not something to take lightly, but what exactly causes mental illness? I understand that it is a certain type of psychological pattern or anomaly usually recognizable through behavior. As I have studied psychology myself, I am a fan of the nature versus nurture argument. I know that we can intentionally change our brain chemistry in every single moment, dependent upon our choices and actions. When we consciously think good thoughts, it changes our neuro pathways which encourage positive behaviors. When we breathe fresh air, it sends cleansing oxygen down into our cells. When we stretch and dance, it releases stored up negativity within us. When we meditate it opens up our brain and changes our hormones in the most balancing and purifying of ways. Therefor, when we do not participate in such mindful actions like these, the opposite also stands true. This is not new information. Ancient societies have been spreading these messages for thousands of years. If science is what you need to understand these truths, there is indeed plenty of research to solidify and support these realities.
My point in sharing all of this with you, is to recognize that the way our country is thinking, behaving, acting, and living, is breeding mental illness and negative behaviors. When we see on the news that our "honorable" military has sent drones over to countries abroad to drop bombs, thus killing innocent people and children in it's wake of fighting "terrorism," how is this influencing us? If we expect our children at home not to glorify killing and war, then we ought not exemplify or support such behaviors ourselves. Am I wrong? What I am trying to do here is explain the relationship between the macrocosm and the microcosm, how these are all intertwined and closely effect one another.
If we really want to make a difference in our interpersonal behaviors, our country, and in the world over all, the violence and the glorification of violence has to stop. The only way to do this is to start in our homes. To teach our children that although the world is in such a state of war and hate, it is not how we want to live our lives and therefor do not support it. The system is still caught up in an economical "game" that the government fails to recognize is not working, or rather is only working for the 1%. By turning off the news and television shows where violence and suffering are the name of the game, we cease to fill our homes with the energetic pathology that causes the spread of such mental impurities. When we continue to feed into it with our attention, the violence and propaganda shall only persist. I am not a doctor, but I do understand cause and effect. I am simply an educated person who is willing to question the way our world is failing us, in light of finding a better way.
As horrific as it sounds, maybe we needed a wake up call like this in our own country, in order to see what we are doing around the world and how it really is no different. War is war is war, death is death is death, people are people are people, no matter what color, race, or religion. We all live together here on this planet. What we focus on and express in our households, schools, and recreational activities, as well as the television programs, movies, books, and video games that we watch, is how we are influencing the developing minds of our children.
I hope my words meet us all with mindfulness, love, and compassion… honoring the heroes, the mourning families, and those who lost their lives in the wake of such hateful violence. All my love and blessings shine with hope, that we will all learn or rather remember, a better way to be.

Ode to Anne Frank
There is something about the holidays that makes us really appreciate our family and loved ones. We want to gather and connect, share and rejoice in all the events that have happened throughout the year. As I sat in my living room last night, I felt peacefully engulfed in the warm and cozy world that my boyfriend and I have created for ourselves. Our very first christmas tree stood brilliantly in the corner, along side our glowing menorah that says “shalom” meaning peace, written in the hebrew language. The fire was burning bright, and our beloved furry pets Kaya- the sweet and cautious Coyote hybrid, and Jada- the fearlessly loving feline, cozied up together. I have no doubt that you all have your own version of this warmth and comfort in your home- or maybe some of you do not.
When we take a moment to look around ourselves and acknowledge the world that we have created, it’s natural to feel grateful yet it might be even more natural for some, to look around and only see what is missing.
As 2012 comes to an end we have a chance to reflect and consciously move forward into the new year, all the Mayan prophecies of “the end of the world” linger in our ears. What does that mean for you? In my mind, I see this end only pointing to the beginning of a better way of life. After all, when one door closes another door opens, right? So what new doors and discoveries are opening for you as 2012 comes to a close?
Many people have died and are dying still, in honor of our plight for “freedom.” For those of us in the United States of America and many other countries around the world, we ARE free. What a blessing to be free! Yet we spend our days going through the motions, distracting ourselves from what’s really important.
I watched the film ”The Diary of Anne Frank,” the other night as we lit our first candles to celebrate Hanukkah and honor our past. The film was an amazing reminder of the war, terror, and suffering that exists in the world. All of which is inflicted by human beings to other fellow human beings. It is a blessing that in my own life, I am able to reflect upon such arrogance and ignorance of the human race, rather than being on the receiving end of such hate. There are others who are not so lucky, and my heart goes out to them. Really though, my heart goes out to us all. We are all connected. This is not just a cliche statement. It’s fascinating to read the scientific research that has detected and registered the positive and negative effects that our thoughts and feelings have on the cellular structure of our food, our own bodies, and how we effect other human beings too. So when one person suffers, we all suffer. When one person is tortured, mangled, bombed, or hungry, we all die just a little inside, whether we are aware of it or not.
Another message that this film inspired in me, is about family. How we are there for each other through thick and thin, even though we might not always get along. We all have our own family dynamic that we were brought up in. As we think back and remember the “story” of our childhood, most of us don’t remember all that much, or our bodies fill up with memories of pain and memories of joy. In this film, Anne Frank was portrayed as a passionate and outspoken, testy teenager. I myself can relate to this sort of character (as I’m sure my family would agree!) Yet, Anne’s message to her family was that she was not going to exude sadness even in such times of darkness. She was going to remain “cheerful.” ”Yes,” she said “we must remain cheerful.” Through her small joys of sneaking up to the attic to gaze out the window, and getting lost while writing in her journal, she found her bits of freedom and fresh air where her spirit could breathe. Most of her family frowned upon her self expressive ways, as they themselves were emotionally stifled and trapped in their own fear and sadness. You see, although her family loved her they often expressed disdain, control, condescendence, and frustration with her. It’s clear to see why she felt so alone and took to her journal the way she did. Anne expressed that her passion was to be able to live on long past her own death. She knew that she might not live through the war, and she felt she needed to write in order to leave a contribution to the world, and indeed she did!
I share this with you, as to reflect on your own life. What are the spunky, passionate, and fearless sides of your spirit that may have been dimmed down or controlled by your parents or family? What are the things that enable you to feel free and breathe deep into your soul? As we may not be in actual war, we are indeed at a crux of time where we, as a humanity, are just bellow the surface of darkness and desperately needing to break through into the light! Our world needs a new way, I think we can all agree to that. While we might not have the threat of bombs blasting our homes and loved ones away, other people in the world still do! What we do have in the Western world, is an economy that has become our enemy. We are held at mercy by the threat of our own personal fiscal cliff, taking away our homes and tearing apart our families. We have been lead astray for thousands of years. A mentality has been created which we now accept as the norm, but I assure you there is nothing normal about it. These ideologies of competition, being the best at another's expense, owning more than we need, and not wanting to share, is more like a sickness in our psychological development, not a progress. Our society honors such distorted accomplishments, and we are spreading these unhelpful lifestyles to our children. We do this by teaching our children to be “the best,” as in better then everybody else, rather then simply allowing them to be “their best.” Through sports, in the school system, and at home, we judge and push them constantly, thinking we know better. My apologies if I have offended you, I however, just like Anne Frank, “must speak my truth,” and only wish to encourage the liberation and enlightenment of our spirits. I also acknowledge that there are many families where this is not the case. By shedding light on the dark side of our world, I hope that it will point us to the light!
Let Anne Frank be a model for us all. She was strong and resisted the darkness that tried to take down her spirit, even though she could not beat the "system" that set out to destroy her and the rest of the Jews. She died in a concentration camp along with her family and millions of other innocent people, but she left her contribution in her writing that lives on. I too hope to leave a contribution, through my writing, my art, and in the hearts and minds of my family and friends.
So I ask of you, if you are a parent, watch closely to WHO your child is. They will show US how to live better if we only let their spirits thrive! I also ask you: What contribution is it that you want to leave in the world? How would you like to be remembered? What is it that you want people to learn from your life?
We are indeed at the dawning of a new age, together and as individuals we can begin to be the change we want to see!

I myself can relate to this sort of character (as I’m sure my family would agree!) The Power of One: Follow YOUR dreams
I close my eyes and see a vision of a world, a new reality. I see us clearly, full of joy and love, fulfilling a global plan that is our destiny. Walking along this open road of our lives, we haven't much to guide us but our written words, bodies, thoughts, and feelings. What will we hold on to, when the next tide attempts to sweep us up and take us out to sea?
If you could chose, where would you land? What if I told you that the world is the way it is only because people dreamed for it to be this way. Every piece of concrete that suffocates the Earth, every ounce of debt that empties our wallets, and all the hungry bellies across the globe, are this way because individuals had a dream, a thought, and a feeling, that they took action on to create this reality. What if I told you that the guiding forces that have lead us into these states of lack, greed, and pride are the forces of dark that have gained power but are meant to be guided back into the place of light? What if I told you that when we are selling a product at the expense of our own inner peace and passions, then we are really selling our soul and sacrificing our spirit? As a world we are on the wrong path. Humanity has been on the wrong path for a long time. It's time to change it.
What are YOUR dreams? Do you think that the desires and dreams of an individual as simple or complex as you are, are not important enough to follow and manifest? Who's dreams are you helping to create in your daily reality? We could live our lives helping the earth and those on it, by planting the natural seeds of our great mother and nurturing the divine will of the great intelligence that gave us life. Yet most of us plug away working towards an empty promise, building a credit line that burns like gas and clogs our lungs. Is your dream to build an empire or fortress where you can feel safe and protected with all of the riches in the land? Imagine yourself high up on a mountain top, you sit surrounded by metal bars and walls of glass, ready to take fire at any intruder that threatens to take away all of the "riches" that you have worked knuckle to the bone to obtain. Let me ask you this, how do you think it is all alone up there on your hill? Has your greed and pride brought you cheerful companionship? Are you ever satisfied or are you always anticipating and searching for what's next?
I'll tell you now, you are not at fault, so you can put down your sword and dismantle your weapons. You are simply a product of the masses of dark energy that have been striving to overtake our world. You can awaken from the nightmare you have been calling your life, if you chose. There is a world waiting for us, calling to us, longing for us to realize. It only takes a dream, a thought, a feeling, a course of action and together we can start to clean up the messes of darkness, and bring our world back into the light.
So I ask you, what are your dreams? Are they big enough? If you are not at least a little bit scared or unsure you can obtain it, then I assure you that you ought to dream bigger! Harness the light and the great powers of the divine intelligence within you, and together the collective consciousness of light will gain strength and will. The pure synergistic love of life is gaining strength in the most miraculous ways. We are at the dawning of a new age, the age of Aquarius. We are being given a chance to correct our path and once again find the way that will lead us to heaven. Not a heaven in the sky where we are damned to be judged, but a heaven right here on earth that we can share with our loved ones and neighbors. It is up to us now, there is no messiah coming to save us. We are the creators and the blessed servants of the divine. I call upon us all to access our brightest truth, most inspired dreams, and start taking action. As the Native Americans believed, we are servants of the land and we owe the Earth our existence. With loving pure thoughts, dreams, hopes, and actions, we can create a world where love is the new war, abundance is the new lack, and joy is the new suffering. Our dreams of love and light are not only ours but meant for us to share with the world and each other.
It's time to ask yourself: What are your greatest dreams? What are you inspired to share with the world?
Follow the feelings that are bigger than you, those that harnesses your greatest good. Make a list, feel it, desire it, and start taking action!

Light at the end of the Tunnel
There is light at the end of the tunnel. There is. I saw it once, just a flicker of light. It was there so bright and brilliant consuming my view, until just tike that, as swiftly as it came, it was gone. I was left feeling empty and cold, alone and without any guidance. I started to question which way I was even going. And where I had just come from? I couldn't possibly turn around and go back. I wouldn't know the way even if I tried. Besides, I'm not sure there's even anything back there for me now. Yes, I need to move forward.
So I began walking forward once again, my world being so dark I couldn't see my own direction. I feared I would step down off a broken ledge, or fall into a hole and get stuck. Still I kept going. Slowly and carefully I moved forward, and with each step I realized that my world was becoming brighter. It was hardly noticeable at first, but slowly my sight grew hazy and I could just make out the shadowy aspects of things appearing in my view. I could hear the sound of leaves crunching below my feet and the scent of fresh trees filled my senses. I suddenly felt safe and my vision was growing brighter. The glow was like the distant light that had flickered in my direction once before, but this time I was being surrounded, no I was being consumed by this vibrant light. There was an energetic fire that was radiating from within me and was echoed by the world around me. My pace began to quicken now, as my heart grew with excitement. I began to run. I was so free with abandon without a worry or a memory to hold me back. The hands of the past had gripped me once before, but no longer. No, I was free now. My head back in awe, mouth gaping wide with laughter, I was lost in my own giddy dilussion. Feeling so light and full with bliss, were feelings I had only once dreamed of, but now were so real and so mine.
My nostalgia of the moment gently awakened me, and I began to calm down and open my eyes. Pulling my head upright, I looked before me at where my journey had led me. Here I stood at the edge of a beautiful lake with a dock jetting out into the water. This moment felt so familiar yet I had never been there before. I wanted to know if anyone else was around, so I walked out to to the edge of the dock and looked out. There was water that stretched out as far as the eye can see and foreign lands ringing promise in the distance. I barely recognized my own reflection and this new sense of adventure that rippled through my being. Curiously I stood and watched and listened, patiently waiting for the boat I knew would come to send me on my way.
Looking back, I am filled with gratitude for that fateful day when I decided to take those frightful steps forward, moving out of the darkness and into the light. Letting the feelings of bliss be my guide, I began charting the maps of this courageous adventure I call my life.

Food for Thought
I was listening to a radio interview the other day on NPR, and a woman was discussing her latest recipe of good old fashion macaroni and cheese. After explaining the details of her new rendition of this timeless cuisine, she insightfully suggested that people eat food from their emotions. Now I’ve heard this before of course, the idea that people go on emotional binges and such, but something about the way she was discussing it led me to think about this concept from a grander perspective. As I thought about this, I started to become more aware of my own eating habits and how they are in fact guided by my emotions. Not just my lower emotions but my higher ones too. I’m realizing that the more I can become aware of this relationship, then the healthier and more balanced I will become.
At first glance one might think of “emotional eating” as a way to cover up sadness or pain that one might be holding on to. The idea of “emotional weight” that builds up pounds of flesh, mirrors the feelings that a person might be storing up in their emotional body. The more subtle nuances of emotional eating however, fascinate me the most. When I feel inspired for example, I find myself wanting to eat healthy. I’ll make myself a fresh and raw kale salad, with delicious chopped veggies and avocado. This food mirrors my feelings. All food has intelligence, so choosing food that heals, nurtures, and restores our body will leave us feeling light and energized. Moreover when I am celebrating a successful day at work, I find myself craving a glass of red wine and a moist slice of warm chocolate cake a la mode. Although this does not leave me feeling light and fresh like a big salad would, I am nonetheless satiated with a warm belly full of tasty delights. When I am in a rush and feeling a bit frantic, I notice myself just eating whatever I can get my hands on… a few pickles, an apple, slice of turkey what have you, and my stomach is left with a not quite satisfied whirlpool of mishmash.
Why am I sharing this with all of you, you ask? I am suggesting that the more we can become aware of how our emotions are effecting our eating habits, then the better we can become at feeding ourselves what it is that is truly best for our bodies and emotional well being. We can also start to guide ourselves in healthier directions. Just because we are feeling sad and craving comfort food doesn’t mean we should eat a giant plate of meat and potatoes, slice of pie and a glass of milk. Most likely that sort of meal will only leave one feeling heavier, not only full of one’s existing emotions but also being weighted down by a pile of food that only sits in the belly like a brick.
The concept of food and emotional eating is a huge topic to bite into. Some people are so concerned with their figure and self image that they starve themselves of the proper nutrients they need in order to feel good and be healthy. So the opposite is also true. Not only do our emotions influence what we eat, but our food directly effects how we feel! The more we can become aware of this relationship the better off we will be as emotionally balanced and physically healthy individuals. Taking responsibility of what we are eating and feeding our children, is of the upmost importance for our overall sustainability. Changing up our habits and becoming aware of our specific needs is essential to this process. Some people call this emotional food relationship “mood food,” meaning change your food and change your mood. So next time you are feeling low and craving indulgences that will only mirror your lower vibration, try going the opposite route and eating something fresh and organic, light and nurturing, to help bring your entire being back into alignment with it’s true vibration… light, fresh, bright, energized and harmonious.
Happy eating!

Getting back to nature
Why is it that in a world with such an abundance of natural beauty and resources, we have decided to get as far away from it as possible? As an infant we are born into a reality with sterile walls, plastic toys, synthetic clothing, and a plethora of artificial distractions surrounding us. We are raised to believe that this is "progress" and work ourselves to the bone to attain all of these "things." We spread concrete all over the Earth as not to place our feet in her rich soils. We build sky scrapers, apartments, mansions and homes, filling them with all this stuff that separates us not only from the earth, but also from each other. Why do we do this, and is this reality in alignment with who we really are?
Rather then plant our own seeds and harvest from our own gardens, most of us go to the grocery store where we have to pay money for something that is our god given right. We don't even know what is in this food we are told to buy. Often it is full of chemicals and unnatural mutations of what was once hunted and gathered by our elders. People are becoming sick, obese, and ridden with disease. These ingredients are even concealed from us as if it isn't important and we haven't the right to know what's in our food.
I believe that we are all born knowing exactly who we are. Exuding the purest of realities and knowing the truths to the greatest philosophical questions in life. Children after all, have most recently been birthed from the universe and therefor are closest to it's truths and in alignment with it's laws. Somehow we as adults have been steered away and forgotten that we are all children of the Earth. Getting back to nature is the best way to stay in alignment with our truth, while living healthy happy lives, thriving, and feeling in tune with our ever changing planet.
We might not all be in the position to plot our own gardens and grow our own food, but we can buy from those closest to us in our surrounding local communities. Maybe even start doing trades and giving power back to the people. The importance of connecting, sharing, and growing with our brothers and sisters is getting stronger everyday. Our world is heating up and pollution is only getting worse. The oceans are rising and cities are collapsing with natural disasters that humble us to the ground. Back to the ground is where we are headed in the end anyhow. We owe it to ourselves to tune in to our greatest truth and taste the joys of heaven while we are here on Earth.
Isn't it true that we are the most intelligent beings on Earth? Then why are we so unable to connect and create a world that echoes the harmony of nature? Why is it so hard for us to love our fellow man rather then raging wars with the desire to compete and conquer? We live in a universe where polarity is a law that we all experience. As light beings we are pushed and pulled by the darkness that surrounds us. The darkness is a gift that points us to the light, yet it is up to us to transmute the negativity and act with integrity and kindness, not just to our fellow man but to the Earth as well. The Earth is crying out for us to head her call. We are indeed intelligent beings, so very capable of gathering and making change. Getting back to nature keeps us sane and brings us into alignment with our greatest truth of who we really are.

The Flame of Love
The heaviness of heart ache weighs upon us like a cloud of grey matter. Lightly pressing into our aches and woes, gathering fluid as each corner it soaks. The walls surrounding our heart can shatter like glass, leaving the shards upon our dampened floor as reminders of where we have come from and all the effort it will take to put the pieces together again. But who is left standing when our walls come crashing down? Who is this being that acts as a witness to this foreign weapon of mass destruction? Floating weightless and hovering like a bird inside its nest, waiting for the guided moment when it shall learn to use its wings and take flight. Yes, the heart is like a beating drum that leads us to dance around a fire with sweat dripping down our brow. This pulse echoes through us as the changing tides rip us to and fro, only to leave us washed up on the shore, face down and mouth full of sand.
How is it that we can stand to walk through these jungles once again? The great jungle of the heart that promises fruit, wildlife, and an array of adventure. One must be careful not to step into a trap or a patch of quicksand, for to sink would be the death of us. And death of the heart leaves us empty. Death of passion leaves us languid and unaffected, numb and void. Void of life and spirit. I would rather chase a lion into the jungle of my heart only to beckon that it roar in my direction, then to lie among the lifeless bones of a future that never will exist. I would rather get swept up in the vastest of hurricanes and lose myself completely, then to be cold and hard like an anchor of a sunken ship at the bottom of the deep blue sea.
Where do your passions lie? What makes your heart feel as though it is full and thriving with life and blood? When did we begin to settle for less than magic? When did it become normal to waste our time with our heads in the sand? When did we decide that the right thing is to work ourselves to death?
I am not going down without a fight. My fight will not challenge you tho, not in the way you think. The flight of my heart will not take form with bows and arrows that kill and harm the ones it crosses. My love will ripen the fruit on the trees of your existence, awakening the sparrow that has kept warm all winter in the gracious hands of time. It is time. It is time to awaken and thrust ourselves forward among the stars. To dig deep within our souls and hearts and search for what will make us shine. We are meant to shine, as we are born to sing a thousand songs. Our hearts ignited with the flame of love may burn, but oh how it will keep us warm when the darkness beckons near and we once again shall await the suns return.

Calm within the Storm
Sometimes in life we are subject to a great storm. The blustery winds and cold icy sheets hail down upon us without warning or a chance. Or maybe there is a warning and we chose to stay, maybe we were hoping for a saving grace to come down and keep us safe and sheltered from the hurricane amongst us. We can get so attached to our surroundings and not want to leave or let go at any cost. Our collection of precious memories sit on the shelves of our hearts, glimmering a promise as an echo of the truth. Our greatest truth. The truth that we are meant to huddle together by a fire and share stories of the days of when. The days when things were good and we felt full in the belly with love, laughter, and earthly delights.
What is the reason for such storms to blow through our calm waters? When did our homes become a target for the racing rage of our great Mother’s purge? Be the eye of the storm, I always tell myself when things start to spin. I search for the eye, the center of this maddening bubble, and I find it. I find it still and waiting for me, like an open arm that transcends space and time. A hallow of a tree that cradles me like the womb of life itself. Calm amongst the swaying branches, floating effortlessly amongst the stars. I am still and safe. Where is the eye of the storm? How does one find such a sweet succulent place of tranquility? Shall I look under a table or bed perhaps? As the bird flies south for winter, I go inward to embrace the sanctity of heaven. My eye lives within me and from it I see the world as whole. I see the Earth cleanse her soul as you expel your anger from the corner of the room. I need not duck or brace myself for I am safe here in my vessel. No wind can take my spirit no rage can shake my walls. I am the eye of the storm, peace tranquil and calm. So sweet hurricane, blow if you must. I see that you are hurting. I will be here like a mother’s breast when the time is now for returning.

The Mystery of How & When
As creating and doing beings, we ask for things that we want and desire every day, in every moment really. Weather consciously or not we are in a desire and crave, resist and repel continuum. We attract what it is we are focusing on. We also attract those things that we are resisting and pushing away from us.
When we ask the universe for a gift, when we send a prayer out to the heavens, when we are full of love in our hearts as we ask, then the answer shall appear. The answer to our prayers does not always come when we think it should, nor does it often come in the package we thought it would. The thing is that time is not really linear as a universal truth. According to physics, time bends and folds, can speed up and slow down. Our reality here on Earth sets us in such a motion where we are guided by a steady pulse of the ticking clock. Really tho there is no such giant universal clock that beats at this linear pace. Why is this important? This is important because the universe does not bring us our dreams on our own personal time clock. There is a much greater divine plan that is happening unbeknownst to us. As we are creating our reality, we are also subject to the mystery of how it will all unfold.
So I ask of you this, if you can do your best to trust that all will work out, then indeed it will. Trust that there is a greater plan and trust in the divine timing of it all. Most of all, allow yourself to be open and keen enough to notice your gift in the package that it comes in with all it's divine perfection and timing.
For you never know how or when, what you are wishing for will appear in your reality.

The Gold of our Past
Your past is always with you like an echo or a ghost. It can be like a grand golden parachute that effortlessly glides behind you, safely landing you at your destination acting as a saving grace from a potential free fall. It can also fill up with old rocks creating unwanted drag or weight until you are drowning in your own attachments. We cannot change the things we have done or that have been done to us. We can however change how we feel about the things we have seen, done and experienced. Life is after all a series of lessons, one after another.
As we awaken every morning to a new day that is dawning, we have a chance to reinvent ourselves. It is up to us how we chose to see the world and respond to it. How we feel about ourselves and our life is a direct reflection of what we came here to do. Our work lies in our own ability to sort through and let go of what is no longer serving us, being our own alchemist creating gold from the rocks. If we build a wall or a door that separates us from our past, then our golden parachute begins to look and act like a giant bag. This bag is full of unlearned lessons, unwanted pains, and un dealt with traumas. It of course is also full of innocence, joy, play, and carefree naiveté. Our past has many faces to it. Which is why one might also compare it to a ghost that appears beside us in moments when our present is echoing or haunted by our past.
Why is it so important to acknowledge our past? Without going back and looking, really seeing how we have acted and where we have come from, we will never be able to truly know who we are from a broad and full perspective. Why is it so important to know who we are? We all have a path, and in this world time appears to be linear. We make choices every moment of what to do next on our path. What is our purpose here? How do we align ourselves with a reality that is greater then just the daily grind? This is why it is so important to know who we are. Without a full understanding of what makes us tick we are simply floating adrift lost in a world that appears to be confusing and full of challenges. When we are rooted on our path, in alignment with who we are and moving forward with every step full of purpose, then we feel good! This is how we feel happy. This is how we learn to trust, and this is where we learn the importance of letting go. In order to be on our path, we must let go and say no to many other paths that appear before us. When we have looked at our past, learned who we are and where we have come from, we learn and feel a deep understanding of where we want to go. Our purpose becomes illuminated before us and we take flight. Our parachute turns into a floatation device that lifts us up and carries us up the mountains, over the seas, and across the valleys. We are light beings meant to be full of light and grounded in our daily reality. It is our great challenge, and by challenge I mean destiny, to attune ourselves with the reality for which we are born to live.
So I ask of you, when you are ready, and you may never feel ready, to look at your past, love it for what it is has given you, learn from it as best you can, and let go of the pain and guilt that may reside there. Empty the emotional waters that are creating drag and causing you to sink. Allow your parachute to fill with gold and be grand once again. Full with the levity of love and light allowing you to embrace who you truly are and walk along your destined path with purpose. Embrace with love the gold of knowing who you are, where you have come from, and where you are going.

Are you stuck in LIMBO?
When I think of being in limbo, I immediately see an image of person on a ledge hovering in vain over which way to take their next step. This person is seemingly paralyzed and unable to move, or confused on which way he or she wants to go. Because of which, they are stuck in a holding pattern.
I have a simple yet profound idea to share about this, and that is that the universe will stay in limbo as long as we stay in limbo. The universe is a doing and creating machine. That's its job. It is constantly in motion expanding and creating our dreams and desires, as well as our fears and worries. This is why it is so important to us as the creators of our reality, to become clear on what it is we are wanting and dreaming of for ourselves and our life. The universe speaks in the language of love, passion, and desire. What we focus on and take action towards becomes a part of our physical reality. When we are unclear, confused, stuck in fear, or not sure about what we want, there is no way that the universe can assist us! It is also important to realize that in order to do this, we must create from the inside out. I'll say it this way... happiness and joy comes from our ability to create our world from the inside out. This means that it is folly to believe that we will stumble upon happiness one day as long as we keep searching outside of ourselves for it. The searching must go inward. The questions must be directed towards what we are already doing, and how we are approaching our life and asking, is this really working for me? Is there a better way I can do this? What do I really want? Or what do I know I don't want?
When we become clear with what we want, and consciously ask the universe for it… when we are persistent, passionate, and take productive action, commit to love and abandon our fears… then wa-la! You will create the reality of your dreams.
If you are the person on the ledge, seemingly stuck in limbo… I'll tell you, you are super close to taking that step but you must chose which way to go, because the universe will stay in limbo as long as you are in limbo.
So I suggest you ask yourself these questions, and quietly listen for your answers to arise…
Is the way your approaching your life working for you? Are you being guided by your fears rather then love? What are you passionate about? What brings you joy? What is your biggest most exciting dream that you wish to create for yourself?
Then take that one step forward. Just one step. The step that you can take TODAY. Then tomorrow take that next step, the one that you can take tomorrow…. and so on and so forth. It's easy to get overwhelmed by the big picture, but life is really just a series of little steps, one day at a time, one moment at a time. When we know what we want, then we move out of limbo and in the direction of our dreams.

The Power of Apology
As human beings, part of our journey is to embrace the challenges that we are confronted with as gracefully as possible. These challenges however, are relative to each individual. What one may experience as hurtful or challenging might go completely unnoticed by another. An area of our lives where this can play itself out most obviously, is in conversation, and even more obviously in confrontational conversation.
When we are dealing with interpersonal communication, it is so easy to get triggered, frustrated, be strong headed, and clouded by our own projections and feelings. In these moments it can be very challenging to listen and acknowledge the perspective of the other. In the end, we all have our own truth, our own inner compass that guides us into being, feeling and taking action as we will. However, we are all connected in the universal law of cause and effect as well. It is the great paradox of our experience here on Earth that as much as we are independent, unique, and different from one another, we are also deeply connected energetically, vibrationally, and emotionally.
This is why it is such a powerfully humble offering to acknowledge when we have made a mistake or hurt another. Especially if we are the reason that they feel hurt. Now this can be a hazy line and it must be understood that at all times we as individuals are responsible for our own perspectives and emotions. How we chose to feel and respond is not to be blamed on another. We can only be hurt by those things which we let hurt us. This being said, when we are in the position of apologizing to another person, it's not to say that we are wrong or responsible for all the pain and suffering the other feels. We are simply acknowledging that what we did or said caused the other person to feel pain, and we are sorry that they feel hurt in this moment. Most of us simply want to be heard and emotionally validated. We don't want to be told that our feelings are unjust or wrong. A simple yet powerful phrase to use is "I see that you are hurt, and I'm sorry you are feeling this way" or " I'm really sorry that what I said caused you to feel upset."
In this way of apologizing we are acknowledging the power and feelings of the other, while staying in our own power.
If you are willing, next time you get in an argument that seems to be going around in circles and not moving forward, take one compassionate moment to acknowledge the feelings of the other as more important than your own, and say "I see that what I said/did caused you to feel hurt and I'm really sorry." My bet is that they will shift in their energy, and in turn offer you the same apology.
We are not in control of other's perspectives, but we are in control of how we show compassion, and how we honor and recognizing another's emotions and connect with them in their universally human experience. In the end there is very little right and wrong, yet there are plenty of more effective and less effective ways to be.

Blood, Sweat, & Bliss
What reveals your soul? What in your life reminds you that you are human and how good it is to be alive?
I took a modern dance class this morning, my wednesday morning ritual, and I had an experience that left me feeling deeply connected to my truth. As I moved and danced the choreography to the melodic beat of the music, I found myself in an entrancing flow that embraced my entire being. I was able to let go of all the thoughts in my mind. I was purely in my body, bending and moving through time and space. The beauty of finding such an emotionally rich space within my physical being, with no doubts, fears, or thoughts to interrupt me, was purely transcendental. As I ended the dance combination, I looked down on the floor and saw drops of blood scattered around. I looked at my foot and realized that it was my blood. I had danced so freely that I had torn the skin off the tops of my feet. I silently cleaned up the drops with a paper towel, and I became flooded with feelings of accomplishment and passion. I felt raw and real. My blood was a humble reminder that I am alive here and now, and that I love to dance with sweet abandon. I am so grateful that I have created rituals within my week where I am able to practice and participate in such fulfilling experiences.
This soul revealing and emotionally rich experience is universal and available to us all. We might be aware of what gets us there and consciously seek this out. Or we may be taken by surprise by a moment of love, connection or beauty that crosses our path. Whichever it may be, the more we can find ourselves embracing this loving spiritual place within ourselves, the more fulfilling and expansive our lives will become.
Deepak Chopra has a great way of describing the soul space in his book, Life after Death. He says your soul is revealed when:
you feel centered
your mind is clear
you have the sensation that time has stopped
you suddenly feel free of boundaries
you are keenly self-aware
you feel merged with another person, either in love or silent communion
you feel untouched by aging or change
you feel blissful or ecstatic
you have an intuitive flash that turns out to be true
you somehow know what is going to happen
you sense the truth
you feel supremely loved or absolutely safe
So I ask you to ponder this question, what brings you closest to your truth and most connected with your soul? What can you actively seek out in your daily or weekly routine as a ritual that brings you in touch with the love of this universal human experience ?

M>3 The Manifestation Magic of Mantras
Manifestation Mandala
Have you ever heard the phrase "your thoughts have legs"? Well if you haven't, I'll share with you what it means. The idea that your thoughts have legs means that when you think certain things, like positive desires, hopes, dreams, or negative doubts, fears, and resentment, your thoughts go out into the world and create a reality that is in alignment with your thoughts. They take a walk and bring themselves back to you.
This is why it is so important that we, as adults, control our perspectives and our thoughts. We may not be able to control every thought that enters our mind. We are after all so conditioned by our past and our surroundings. Shaping our inner landscape takes daily practice and effort. We cannot just read a book, feel inspired and then think that we have changed. Sorry, it's just not the way it works. The complex network of the neuro pathways in the brain our wired, fused, and set to go on their familiar path, unless… Unless we take it upon ourselves, to consciously change our thoughts.
This is where we get to the powerful manifestation magic of mantras. It's not a coincidence that some of the most ancient belief systems that are rooted in inner peace and harmonious lifestyles, historically use Mantras in their way of life. It's time we catch on and harness their transformative power! Let me ask you this, do you think that the most successful people in the world, wake up each morning thinking "I'm a failure," " I'll never be any good," "I can't…" "I hate…"
The answer is no, they don't. (well, maybe some) But my point is, more likely then not, these successful people BELIEVE that they deserve their success! They feel worthy and passionate about their dreams. They feed themselves healthy thoughts and are determined not to let fear and self-doubt cloud their perspective. Their thoughts then in turn, walk out into the world and bring their successes back to them.
Here's the key about Mantras and how they work. You repeat an affirmation to yourself that is strictly in the POSITIVE. You use your words as if you are ALREADY exactly where and how you want to be. Here's a great example of a few Mantras that you can use before you create your own…
"I say YES to having my life work all the time."
"I love myself, and I am confident, beautiful, and successful."
"I say YES to a career that pays me more money that I can spend."
"I say yes to a career that provides me with satisfaction, fun, and low stress."
Do you see how it works? Repeating your mantra/s every morning and every night (or more) will physiologically start to change the thinking and processing pathways of your brain. They will change your mood and bringing you into alignment with the reality you WANT! Go ahead, try it for a week and see how you feel!
~may the manifestation magic of mantras bring you your dreams…

That's A Thought: The origin
We think hundreds of thoughts every day. Do you ever stop to wonder how many of these thoughts are on repeat, like a broken record circling round and round inside our minds effecting and reflecting our reality? How OLD are some of the thoughts that are still getting air time? Where did these ideas that shape our personality even come from?
It may or may not be news to hear that the majority of our subconscious, which are the thoughts that create our reality and guide us through our adult life, whether we are aware of it or not, is formed between the ages of 0-3 years old. Zero to three! That means that in the most vulnerable time of our existence our sweet innocent essence of a being is getting clouded with all of the chaos and parental turbulence that enters our sphere. No matter what our memories are about our childhood, be it cheery and bright or full of suffering, it is important to remember that as adults it is our responsibility to awaken and become aware of how we chose our thoughts, and to let go of those thoughts that simply are not serving us anymore. It is my understanding that we as adults want to think, but we don't want our thoughts to control us.
There are a lot of changes that occur between the thought patterns and perspectives from generation to generation. So much of the suffering on a macro scale, comes from people not being willing to let go and realize that they are stuck in old ways of thinking. Just look at religious wars, territory wars, economical wars, control in general… In our own country we are at the midst of a Presidential battle that is based on shut downs, manipulation, and lies! When did this become the norm? We are all so conditioned to believe that this is ok and normal and just the way it is… Well I say, that's a thought!
By saying "that's a thought" I am suggesting that I'm not willing to automatically own the other's perspective and accept it as my truth. I am choosing to hold it in the palm of my hand and evaluate from a clear detached perspective, whether or not this "idea" or "thought" works for me. I'm suggesting that we stop becoming slaves to the thoughts and conditions of the negativity around us.
HOT TIP~ If your boss, co-worker, family member, or friend says something to you that makes you feel bad in any way, rather than just accepting it as the truth, try saying "that's a thought," and return your power back to yourself. You are communicating now from an empowered place, that what they've just said is simply a thought and is not necessarily true or false or yours to own. Rather it is a mere reflection of the perspective of the other person.
If you're willing, try this out next time you get faced with negativity, simply say "that's a thought" and watch how differently the scene and your emotions unfold!
